From a polishing shop to a high-tech powerhouse.
President David LaGrow founded the Maximum Mold Group in 1996. Three decades of reinvestment and strategic acquisitions built the group it is today.
1996
Sept 20
A small polishing shop
David LaGrow founds the Maximum Mold Group of companies as a small polishing shop in Coloma, Michigan, servicing the manufacturing trade.
2000
First precision CNC machine
After many years in the trade, LaGrow buys his first new precision CNC machine. The business grows and transforms into a full-time precision machine shop.
2015
Michigan Mold becomes Max²
The acquisition of Michigan Mold’s assets in Coloma complements Maximum Mold and becomes Max², LLC — specializing in CNC lathe and millwork.
2017
Mach Mold joins the group
A strategic move: LaGrow purchases the former Mach Mold in Benton Harbor, adding sampling, glass encapsulation, 3D printing and larger-capacity EDM to keep the group a one-stop shop.
2019
Magnum Manufacturing
The group acquires the assets of 38-year-old Magnum Manufacturing in Westland, Michigan — expanding into prototype tooling, plastic welding and customer support.
